Harvest time :)! The Europlant Jelly and Donata intended for export in the coming season were planted around the last week of April, and are now being harvested.
Above you can see the Donata planted on heavy clay soil. On average each plant has around 7 to 8 tubers. The grower is content; the tubers are good in size, and there is no scab in sight!
Above you can see the Jelly planted on the same heavy clay soil. Each plant has an average of 8 to 9 tubers. The skin colour is a nice yellow.
Above an impression of those same potatoes being brought into storage. As you can see from the washed tubers, the skin quality this year is very high. The tubers are now placed in front of the ventilation wall; this way, when the tubers will be handled for export later on, the soil will let loose and fall off by itself.
Above you can see Jelly harvested from light loamy soil. On this type of soil, the plants tend to grow more tubers: these Jelly plants have grown an average of 10 to 11 tubers per plant.
