This year's seed potatoes arrived in two shipments. Both were inspected before departure by Libyan officials who were assigned by resolution of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya General People's Committee for Agriculture, Animal and Sea Wealth.
The inspection was carried out in cooperation with the Libyan Inspection Service for Food & Drugs, as well as the National Seed Improvement Center, the Center for the Control of Agricultural Pests, and the Board for the Inspection of Seed Potatoes.
The first group of officials who inspected the first shipment on 27 and 28 December 2010, consisted of Engineers Mustafa Abu Abbud, Yussuf Al Arabi, Salem Amouri, and Ayad Alhaji. The second shipment took place on 12 and 13 January 2011. This time the inspection was carried out by Engineers Mustafa Abu Abbud, Salem Amouri, and Ezeddin Efhema.
The inspectors verified that the goods were in compliance with all the required technical specifications. After completion of their findings, the officials signed their report that the cargo to be shipped was in good order, free of quarantine pests, and in compliance with all relevant Libyan laws and regulations.
